DR. BROOKE SCHRADER OF WEST MOBILE CHILDREN'S DENTISTRY
Dr. Brooke’s Education and Previous Professional Experiences
Dr. Brooke is so excited to be opening her own pediatric dental practice in Mobile, Alabama!
She is a graduate of St. Paul’s Episcopal School and obtained her BA in Biology at the University of Virginia in 2002. Dr. Brooke graduated from UAB’s School of Dentistry and then completed a two year pediatric dental residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. In 2014, Dr. Brooke became a Board Certified Pediatric dentist following completion of written and oral exams.
Dr. Brooke practiced pediatric dentistry in Raleigh, North Carolina for eight years. In 2018, she and her family moved to Mobile, and Dr. Brooke worked at Mobile Pediatric Dentistry for about two and a half years.
Dr. Brooke’s New Practice
Dr. Brooke’s new practice will be located on Cottage Hill Road, next door to West Mobile Dental Care, which is her husband’s practice. The offices will have separate waiting rooms, check in/check out areas, and treatment spaces but will share a few common spaces such as the laundry room and staff lounge. Dr. Brooke’s office will have three hygiene chairs and two private rooms for procedures. She is looking forward to having a small space where she and her staff can provide individualized, loving care. While her practice is being built, Dr. Brooke is continuing to treat patients at her husband’s office.
Dr. Brooke’s Treatment Philosophy
While Dr. Brooke is able to perform traditional dental procedures such as fillings, crowns, and extractions, Dr. Brooke takes pride in trying to provide minimally invasive dental care to children. Newer techniques have proven very effective in pediatric dentistry that allow treatment without having to numb and cut on the tooth. These conservative techniques allow for easier, less involved treatment visits and therefore, greater patient and parent satisfaction.
Dr. Brooke loves working with children and can’t imagine working with any other patient population. As a children’s dentist, she is given the unique opportunity to visit with her patients and their families every six months. In hopes to prevent tooth decay, Dr. Brooke spends time talking her with patients and their parents/caregivers about proper dental hygiene and healthy eating habits. Following the recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Brooke recommends that children begin dental appointments around their first birthday. Dr. Brooke loves the baby checkups, especially since her kids are getting big.
Dr. Brooke’s Family
Dr. Brooke and her husband have 3 kids that are ages 8, 7, and 4. Their family enjoys cooking, making lots of messes with arts and crafts projects, riding bikes, movie nights at home, and singing loudly.
Dr. Brooke is looking forward to seeing your children and addressing any of your dental concerns.
